As the recent welcome received by the US wrestling team in Iran has again made obvious, Iranian people have much respect for and sympathy with US Americans. We hope that 45, his administration and Iranian lobbyists will not squander away all this by showing them the darkest and profit above all else seeking side of America.

Reading the social media posts of those in the Iranian opposition who are cooperating with the Trump camp in the hope of gaining personal power in any turmoil that may ensue, can bring much insight into the motivation and policies behind political statements. After mourning the resignation of Lieutenant General Michael T. Flynn as National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump – whom some have come to call 45 – one such prominent opposition lobbyist noted the next day, that they should not lose heart for the Trump camp’s policy remains “using any and every excuse to weaken, destabilize and attack Iran ”.
These statements along with the career history of Mr. Trump’s administration and the often noted fact that they are not interested in nation-building – as is proven in deed in what is ongoing in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as many other countries in the region – clearly indicate that one way some plan to make America great again, is by setting the stage to hand over Iran’s oil wells and its extensive oil reserves to their chosen oil companies.
Particularly since the long negotiated and finalized Iran Deal has made the work of the group more difficult, they will in the next months not shy away from any narrative to proceed with their destabilization efforts and shall of course seek to build a coalition making Iran appear as the one “dangerous” regional power whose reigning in will solve all others; just as they did with Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya.
Their work will not be easy, especially since less than one month into this work, they have already lost respect both on the internal as well as international front. And – also thanks to the transparency created by the euphoria of their Iranian lobbyists – understanding this administration’s narrative on Iran is neither difficult nor complicated.
However, we have been there before and neither of the other wars in the Middle East made the world safer or stopped the flow of refugees to the West; on the contrary. It made some richer and left much of the world struggling to deal with their outcome.
As the recent welcome received by the US wrestling team in Iran has again made obvious (please see the links below), Iranian people have much respect for and sympathy with US Americans. We hope that 45, his administration and Iranian lobbyists will not squander away all this by showing them the darkest side of America.
